By registering in advance, you will be able to smoothly complete the evacuation center reception procedure in the event of a disaster by simply scanning the 2D code provided at the center and replying to a simple questionnaire.
Apart from evacuation center reception, there is also a feature that lets people who are evacuating (such as by sleeping in their cars, etc.) register their evacuation status. This allows Kumamoto City to monitor the evacuation status of its citizens in a way never before possible, ensuring better support for disaster victims.
You can search for community activities and volunteer activities taking place near you, and easily apply to participate. You can also look through a log of the volunteer activities you have participated in, and obtain activity certificates issued via the app.
You are able to earn points by participating in activities through the app. Points accumulated in the app can be exchanged for coupons usable at all stores that support the Kumamoto Point Project as well as for tickets for in-app lottery drawings. (Scheduled for 2025)

The purposes of the project are to increase the rate of participation in community activities and volunteer activities by developing the Kumamoto App, a dedicated smartphone app that makes use of one’s Individual Number Card (*) and introducing a point system as an incentive for those who participate, as well as to provide evacuees and disaster victims with the support they need by adding features useful in operating evacuation centers and recruiting disaster relief volunteers in the event of a disaster.
*The app only scans the four items (name, address, date of birth, and gender) listed on the front of the Individual Number Card.During ordinary times, you can earn points in the app by participating in community activities and volunteer activities, and have volunteer activity certificates issued. In the event of a disaster, the app aids in providing evacuees with support, such as facilitating reception at evacuation centers, making the app useful both in times of peace and in times of disaster.
Scan your Individual Number Card using your smartphone to link up your information and create an account.
You can search for volunteer activities and apply to participate. In addition to earning points based on your participation in activities, you can also earn higher ranks by participating a certain number of times! This makes participating in activities even more fun.
After participating in a volunteer activity, you will be issued an activity certificate, which you can easily view.
In the event of a disaster, just scan the 2D code posted at the center and reply to a simple questionnaire to smoothly complete the reception process!
You can also receive disaster information notifications from Kumamoto City.
